AROH takes up programmes for overall community development which is done in a phased manner. The project is envisaged to complete in about 2-5 years time, when the project is supposed to achieve its objectives with the target community empowered.

The community development begins with identification of its needs emerging through focus group discussions and baseline surveys in the first phase. In the second phase, village mapping and listing of resources is done. AROH, then works steadily towards developing strategies and action plans in the third phase. In the process, government officials, elected members of the village council, community leaders and senior citizens, teachers, doctors, etc are made to participate and articulate their needs. AROH essentially works in collaboration with the panchayat and government bodies for all rural activities. The fourth phase is of implementation of action plan and fifth phase is of monitoring and evaluation.
